

Noted as one of the industry’s sharpest analysts by Financial Planning magazine, Dan has assisted businesses through research and strategy development for more than two decades. Dan’s work at FA Insight typically relates to identifying emerging best practices in firm management, illuminating general industry trends, and providing new perspectives on the distribution of and demand for financial advice.
Dan is often a featured presenter at industry events and conferences. He has authored articles and has been quoted in leading trade publications such as Financial Advisor, Financial Planning, FundFire, Investment Advisor, Investment News, and Registered Rep. His research and consulting focus includes strategic planning, organizational design, compensation, operations, client servicing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to founding FA Insight, Dan served as senior research manager with the Business Consulting Group at Moss Adams, a practice that was nationally recognized for its deep expertise in the financial advisory marketplace. He joined Moss Adams from Russell Investments, where for several years he served as Russell’s manager of Marketing Research. Prior to Russell, Dan was director and chief economist for the U.S. Virgin Islands Bureau of Economic Research, and an economist with the Washington State Department of Trade & Economic Development.
Dan holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from the University of Washington and is a CFA charter holder.
